"Our hair is magical," says Dr. Joanne Cornwell at Adornment, the first natural hair show in the UK.
She discusses racism, culture, Black economics and the hair care industry, and sisterlocks.
My, isn't Joanne's hair 'short' in this video made about 6 years ago!

Hi!
I've been a silent reader for the most part, but its now time I told you how much I adore your blog. I am a 17 year old college freshman trying to find herself. Sometimes I find myself in great despair on account of my hair. I have never had long hair and I wore weave for a portion of my life. Braids were my go-to hairstyle, since I was about 5. Kinkys fit me best. But I now live in the hottest state (FL), as opposed to my native NY. My hair is suffering. I'm really active in swimming and lacrosse. Your locks are beautiful. I am really considering them now.
Thanks for the inspiration.
I remember you! How are things going? I posted a comment to one of your first few posts.
Take your time, study and surround yourself with supportive blogs, literature, websites, images and people...natural Afrikan hair will remain 'counter culture' into the foreseeable future...until WE make it mainstream...but until then, we're here for you!
